When people join us, we send them computing equipment. This should reach you in your first week, if not on your first day.

Hardware Recommendations and Allowances

Guidelines for Equipment and Workspace:

2. Computing Equipment Allowance:

We provide unusually generous allowances for computing equipment.

• Please exercise judgment when selecting your equipment.
• Purchases from vendors not on the approved list may result in inability to use the equipment if you leave the company.
• In such cases, you will be required to buy back the equipment from Thrive at the rates specified in the document.
• Avoid purchasing extravagant or highly specialized equipment that may not be practical for others to use.

3. Designated Workspace:

• Set up a dedicated work area to clearly separate it from other living spaces at home.
• Consider using a different browser or separate screens specifically for work-related tasks.

4. Handling Hardware:

• Treat all company-provided hardware with care.
• We recommend using protective cases to prevent damage.
• Repair costs for damage not covered by insurance (e.g., accidental drops or loss) may be your responsibility.
• Discuss with your manager if there are important devices for your work that are not on the standard list.

Exit Protocol and Furniture Buyout

When an employee decides to leave Thrive, the option to purchase the hardware and furniture may be provided at the discretion of the People Ops team and the employee's manager.

As part of the Full & Final settlement, please note that upon leaving the company within 1 Year of Claiming the reimbursement of Furniture, you will be required to buy out the furniture from Thrive at its depreciated cost at that particular moment.

Shipping & Wear and Tear:

After returning hardware and furniture, any significant wear and tear requiring service or repair will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.

The cost of these repairs may need to be borne by you, taking into account factors such as your tenure and the condition of the hardware when received.

Upon completing this process, your final settlement will commence.
